Fort
Wilderness Resort and Campground is a wonderful development and
the ideal camping experience inside Walt Disney World. The only
problem with this development is its size. The 1192 site park
is divided into a number of loops containing closely spaced (yet
well maintained) camp spurs. The restrooms are well maintained
and recreational opportunities abound. Because of its size and
layout, bus service is available between each loop and campground
facilities. Fort Wilderness does offer areas for pets and our
site (1832) was in such an area. The site itself was nicely screened
from other sites but was quite cramped for our 33 foot triple
slide fifthwheel. In fact, the neighbor across the road had to
move his car for us to back into our site. Smaller units would
have less problems.
The
Walt Disney World staff members were always friendly and helpful
and we have no complaints other than the relatively small site.
We were able to access the internet from the main lodge and had
no problems with noisy neighbors or pets. Our cost was 48.50
per night for full hook-ups (this included a $3.00 per night
charge for our dog). Remember, if you camp of-site you will have
a $6.00 per day parking fee within the park. We had the opportunity
to visit all the Walt Disney World Kingdoms and MGM Studios.
Our stay was fun filled and very enjoyable. As SavvyCampers,
we would surely stay here again. For more information call 407-WDW-CAMP.
