 Hernando
Point Campground is a Corps of Engineers facility located on
the shores of Lake Arkabutla. The park has 83 mostly wooded and
paved sites offering electric (20/30 amps) and water hook-ups.
Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Hernando Point is
located just 25 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee and can be
used a as a base camp for tourist excursions into the Memphis
area.
We camped in site 66 and enjoyed its spacious layout and setting.
Our cost was just $10.00 per night (11/99). Other sites offer
lakeside views and are in close proximity to shower buildings
and flush restrooms.
Because the Memphis area offers many tourist attractions (Elvis
Presley's Graceland, historic Beale Street, Sun Recording Studios,
Mud Island, etc.) plan on spending a number of days in the area.
In addition, the park has a beach and marina to serve SavvyCamper
needs. Try it, You'll like it.
